Everyone read this as a car story. I think it is a manufacturing story.
Tesla has spent a decade learning to mass-produce a complicated machine with motors, batteries and sensors in it. A humanoid robot is a smaller version of that same problem. The factory is the moat, not the robot.
A tectonic shift! Elon Musk just announced that Tesla is discontinuing its two flagship car models, S and X in a few months! This is big enough news, but the real big deal is what comes next: The freed factory capacities will be used to manufacture humanoid robots, the Optimus!🤖 pic.twitter.com/tkfsq2dxHv
