Car makers keep turning up in this field, and it is not a coincidence. Xpeng already builds electric drivetrains, battery packs and vision systems at scale — a humanoid is largely those same components in a different arrangement.
Iron is still a show-floor robot rather than a working one. But the companies most likely to make these cheap are the ones that already know how to make a hundred thousand of something.
